A blackout checklist for hotel guestrooms
Light leaks at the edges, not through the fabric. Six checks that decide whether a room actually goes dark.

A 99.8% fabric in a badly fitted room reads as 90%. The gap at the leading edge, the return at the wall and the overlap at the centre are where the light gets in.
The six checks
One: overlap at the centre, minimum 10 cm. Two: return to the wall, 12 cm minimum. Three: track mounted 15 cm above the reveal, or to the ceiling. Four: side channels on any roller. Five: no gap above the pelmet. Six: blackout lining on the leading edge only if the fabric is uncoated.
Phasing
On a phased opening, ship by floor and label by room. A pallet of unlabelled panels on a hotel site costs more in labour than the freight saved.
