How to read a card
Four numbers decide most specifications.
Weight (gsm)
Below 200 gsm drapes soft; above 320 gsm stands and holds a crisp pleat.
Composition
Linen reads dry, cotton reads soft, polyester holds the colour and the price.
Usable width
280 cm covers most walls in one panel; 320 cm removes the vertical seam on sheers.
Light block
99%+ is blackout. 90–96% is room darkening. Below 60% is a filter, not a block.
Fire rating
NFPA 701 for the US, BS 5867 for the UK, EN 13773 for the EU — per fabric, not per range.
Care
Velvet is dry-clean only. Coated faces wipe clean. Sheers machine wash at 30°.
